Staff wellbeing resources

STEP employ the services of Medigold Health to provide specialist occupational health advice. Our Perkbox wellness hub is a platform that helps support our staff in all areas of wellbeing.

We also offer free flu vaccination through our Occupational Health Service Provider and free eye tests for computer uses.

Health Scheme

STEP is committed to providing suitable support for all members of staff to promote their positive mental, physical and emotional welfare.

In addition to the staff benefits via Perkbox which includes a range of discounted wellbeing and health products and services. The Trust continues to offer contributory healthcare via Benenden Health to staff. This includes a 24 hour GP Helpline, 24 hour Mental Health Helpline and Counselling Support.

Free counselling service

Our Employee Assistance Programme offers a confidential telephone helpline, available 24/7, 365 days a year, up to four structured counselling sessions with a qualified counsellor, an online health and wellbeing portal with on-demand videos and resources and urgent as well as in the moment support via the confidential helpline.

Mental Health First Aiders

STEP view mental health equally important to physical health. Our Mental Health First Aiders are a point of contact at each academy if you are concerned or experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress.  They can give you initial support and signpost you to appropriate help if required.

Staff can contact a Mental Health First Aider for a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental conversation.
