Jas Leverton, Non-Executive Trustee
Jas has over 37 years of experience and success in primary education; 23 years as Head Teacher, substantial experience in supporting schools causing concern both as Executive Head Teacher, as well as a School Improvement Partner.
Her deep passion and drive for success for all pupils in its wider sense, encompassing academic outcomes, confidence and compassion, physical and mental well-being, have always been fuelled by her own early experiences as a refugee living in Britain. She believes that every child has the right to access a broad and relevant curriculum that develops good communication and life skills for academic, as well as personal achievement. Her commitment to inclusion and equity is deep rooted and drives her to be an advocate for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Alongside executive headship, Jas has been a member of a number of education boards and has chaired many strategy groups, playing a key role in setting up the very successful Redbridge Education Partnership of 54 primary, secondary and special schools, as well as the Behaviour Support Centre for pupils at risk of exclusion.
Jas has recently retired from headship and is currently working as a self-employed consultant.
